OWRMD

Oiled Wildlife Rehabilitation Medical Database

Due to the need for a first-rate wildlife medical database dedicated to oil spill response in California, The Wild Neighbors Database Project and the Oiled Wildlife Care Network (OWCN) partnered to develop an oil spill specific version of WRMD, called OWRMD.

  • OWRMD stands for the Oiled Wildlife Rehabilitation Medical Database. It is an oil spill response database for wildlife care, developed in partnership with the Oiled Wildlife Care Network and now a premium extension for all.

  • The Wild Neighbors Database Project designed a database for the Oiled Wildlife Care Network (based at the One Health Institute at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine) in 2013. This database is specifically for animal care during an Oil Spill Response in California.

The Wild Neighbors team is on-call for an oil spill event. In a large spill, we are boots on the ground in a few days time and anticipate working the spill until the end of patient care. We ensure users are trained on OWRMD and that the system is operating as it should.

  • We have an oil spill extension product that can be activated within your WRMD Pro account. You can learn more about this option here.
