One Health Epidemiologist

Pranav is a veterinary epidemiologist with a research interest in the ecology of diseases in animal populations and studying emerging infectious diseases that spillover from animals to humans. His expertise lies in using mathematical and machine learning models to unravel drivers affecting disease epidemiology and transmission in animal populations and its spillover to humans.

As a One Health epidemiologist, his reserach focuses on providing pandemic intelligence to aid mitigation policies for disease spillover from animals to humans. His research lab has been developing advanced statistical and epidemiological tools supported by well-planned field studies. These tools serve the academic community, analysts in state and global organizations (USDA, FAO, OIE), policymakers, and other stakeholders in public and animal health such as farmers and large scale livestock producers.
