We are Hiring a Development and Communications Coordinator

The Wild Neighbors Database Project is looking to contract with a development and communications coordinator to help us grow the business. The Wild Neighbors Database Project is a fully remote US based 501(c)3 non-profit organization which promotes international wildlife rehabilitation by developing online data management software and helping implement its use worldwide to gather and exchange wildlife data. We are a small team of dedicated individuals intent on supporting and improving the lives of wildlife everywhere. It is a tough job but we are equal to the task.

What You Will be Doing

You will be working with our team to develop and implement a communications strategy to promote our brand and projects to wildlife professions around the world. Through your communications you will also be growing our sustaining donors to help meet our financial goals. The Development and Communications Coordinator will work with our team on special, ongoing and nonrecurring projects.

What Is The Ideal Candidate Like?

  • You should be fluent in English and have excellent communication skills.
  • You should have a great sense of humor.
  • You should be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage your time wisely.
  • You should have a passion for wildlife conservation, birding or natural sciences.

Must Haves

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Asana, Wordpress, Donorbox and other similar softwares.
  • Organized with excellent follow-through on tasks.
  • Digitally savvy with a strong design aesthetic and working knowledge of design and social media platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

Principal Responsibilities And Duties

  • Communicating with our users via blog posts, social media and emails to raise awareness of and support for The Wild Neighbors Database Project mission and our programs.
  • Coordinate fundraising campaigns and developing a monthly sustaining donor program.
  • Represent The Wild Neighbors Database Project to potential donors, funders, sponsors, and partners.
  • Manage user subscriptions to our various web applications.
  • Researching funding opportunities, writing proposals, reports and all other grant-related work.

Benefits

Compensation: $25/hr - $30/hr (depending on your experience)

  • Start date: January/February 2023
  • Fully remote based role
  • Contractor 1099 position
  • Based in North America
  • 10-20 hours/week
  • Salary range: $25/hr - $30/hr depending on your experience and could also be agreed on in your local currency
