Wild Wanderings in New York & Pennsylvania!
Our team made a trip to New York and Pennsylvania to meet with wildlife rehabilitators and represent WRMD at a the New York State Wildlife Rehabilitation Council conference.
Oilapalooza 2024
Our team recently attended Oilapalooza in Bakersfield, California. This bi-annual event is hosted by the Oiled Wildlife Care Network and UC Davis. This year’s event was held on October 23rd and 24th and included a full oil spill response drill.
Ceto is live!
We are excited to share that our most recent project, Ceto, is now live! Currently, only organizations within the Gulf of Mexico Marine Mammal Stranding Network are able to use Ceto. However, Ceto was built with the ability to expand and adapt to the needs of other Marine Mammal Stranding Networks across the United States. We hope to be able expand Ceto by summer of 2025. If you are interested in potentially using Ceto, please contact us.
The Story of the WRMD Logo
Our President and Co-Founder, Rachel Avilla, created the WRMD logo. Because WRMD is a database and data analytics can be considered a bookish type endeavor, she decided to use a bookworm style mascot. This bookworm is reminiscent of the 80’s style Glo worm toy.
