We're Hiring a Customer Service Associate

The Wild Neighbors Database Project is looking to contract with a Customer Service Associate to help us better respond to our users questions and assist with backend data management. The Wild Neighbors Database Project is a fully remote US based 501(c)3 non-profit organization which promotes international wildlife rehabilitation by developing online data management software and helping implement its use worldwide to gather and exchange wildlife data. We are a small team of dedicated individuals intent on supporting and improving the lives of wildlife everywhere. It is a tough job but we are equal to the task.

What You Will be Doing

You will be interfacing directly with our users to answer their support request; providing them with answers to their questions through creative problem solving and/or providing links to our knowledge base. Additionally you will be monitoring portions of Wildlife Rehabilitation MD (WRMD) data such as managing our taxa database and assisting with validating our terminology classification application to ensure data integrity.

What Is The Ideal Candidate Like?

  • You should be fluent in English and have excellent communication skills.
  • You should have a great sense of humor.
  • You should be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage your time wisely.
  • You should have a passion for wildlife conservation, birding or natural sciences.
  • You should be very detailed oriented and appreciate well organized data.

Must Haves

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Asana, Wildlife Rehabilitation MD (WRMD).
  • Organized with excellent follow-through on tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Solid detail-oriented abilities which will require investigative skills to verify and validate data.

Principal Responsibilities And Duties

  • Responding to our users help requests through our internal help desk software and email. May also require phone calls as needed.
  • Manage user subscriptions to our various web applications.
  • Review and validate standardized classification terminology.
  • Fixing unrecognized patient common names.
  • Maintain taxa database with current scientific classifications and various other related information.

Benefits

Compensation: $25/hr - $30/hr (depending on your experience)

  • Fully remote based role
  • Contractor 1099 position
  • Based in North America
  • 10-15 hours/week
  • Salary range: $25/hr - $30/hr depending on your experience and could also be agreed on in your local currency
