End of Season Reminders
Congratulations, season should be slowing down and there is light at the end of the tunnel. This has been a very active summer for WRMD. I hope that the message system is working well for everybody. We receive at least 1 message a day from our users and sometimes up to 10. If you ever have a question or concern we are here to help.
Fall is the time to try and get everything in order for the end of the year. Here are a few reminders for those that did not get to do much data entry during the summer. 1. You don't need to put records in chronological order. The date admitted can be easily changed when creating a new record, so it doesn't really matter how you enter them, as long as the paperwork reflects the WRMD Case #.
2. You can use quick admit for any animal, but especially those with a final disposition. If you want more information on how to use quick admit visit our blog post at http://blog.wrmd.org/category/extension-of-the-month/page/3/ .
This is an easy way to admit animals into the system. The down side is that it only accepts very basic information. As long as the paper work is labeled with the correct Case # someone can go through all the records at a later date and record more information. With all this work ahead you might see the benefits in admitting animals on intake and then going back when it is slower and updating their information when you have dispositions.
3. For paperwork with final dispositions, make sure you have all the information you need. The final disposition, disposition date and location released or transferred before you create the Case #. It can be frustrating when you are entering records and you have to stop to find that information, somewhere.
4. Even though it sounds miserable, start your paperwork now and work on it at your own pace. It can be a very tedious job and very difficult to do for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time.Good Luck and hope to see some of you at the upcoming conferences.
