Wild Wanderings in New York & Pennsylvania!

Two members of The WNDP team recently visited the states of New York and Pennsylvania to attend a wildlife rehabilitation conference and to meet with as many of our WRMD friends as they could!

Rachel and Misty attended the New York State Wildlife Rehabilitation Council conference in Corning, New York. They spent their time meeting new wildlife rehabilitators and providing in-person WRMD expertise to current WRMD users.

They also had a chance to reconnect with Christine Fiorello, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACZM. Rachel and Devin worked with her to develop OWRMD around ten years ago! Dr. Fiorello now works at the Swanson Wildlife Hospital in the Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, New York as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences, Section of Wildlife.

In the days surrounding the conference, Rachel and Misty visited WRMD user organizations across Pennsylvania. All of the organizations are dedicated WRMD users and we are so grateful to them for meeting with us and allowing us to tour their space.

They visited with The Pennsylvania Bat Rescue in Mertztown, The Schuylkill Center Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic in Philadelphia and Raven Ridge in Washington Boro to offer on-site user support.

There are many bats to be cared for at Pennsylvania Bat Rescue! Thank you to Pennsylvania Bat Rescue President and Executive Director, Stephanie Stronsick, for allowing us to view their facility.

A fun perk of the trip was that Rachel was able to visit Scranton, Pennsylvania! Rachel is a big fan of the TV show, The Office, which was set in Scranton.

This was a very meaningful trip that helped to establish and reinforce strong ties with the wildlife rehabilitation community in New York, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. We are so grateful to everyone that made the time to meet with us.
