Oilapalooza 2024

Our team recently attended Oilapalooza in Bakersfield, California. This bi-annual event is hosted by the Oiled Wildlife Care Network and UC Davis. This year’s event was held on October 23rd and 24th and included a full oil spill response drill.

While there, our team presented about the features that will be included in the upcoming update of OWRMD 3.0. We also provided OWRMD support during the oil spill response drill.

This event allowed for networking with other wildlife rehabilitators and we were able to catch up with our dear friend, Mike Ziccardi. Mike is the director of California’s Oiled Wildlife Care Network and has been a strong supporter of The Wild Neighbors Database Project and WRMD from the very beginning. We are very grateful for his friendship, generosity and wisdom over the years.
