Why this work matters

Every animal tells a story.

Millions of stories become shared intelligence. Intelligence becomes action. Action protects animals, people, and the planet we share.

Our mission

We harness wildlife data, transforming it into shared intelligence that protects animals, people, and the planet we share.

Our vision

We envision a future where the story told by wildlife data leads to healthier ecosystems, stronger communities, and a sustainable world.

The challenge

Threats to wildlife cross borders. Wildlife health data often do not.

Threats move faster than we notice them

Disease, toxin exposure, and a changing climate can show up in wild animals first. By the time a pattern is obvious, it has usually already spread.

Each observer sees one small piece

For decades, wildlife rehabilitation records remained on paper, in spreadsheets, or within individual organizations - valuable locally, but invisible to the broader wildlife health community.

Thousands of snow geese fill a green field on Fir Island, Washington, as more fly in low above them. The answer

A shared intelligence network

When every clinic records care data the same way, individual observations contribute to a broader picture of wildlife health.

The network effect

Every record makes the whole system smarter

A wildlife rehabilitator in one town admits a sick raptor. During the same week, twelve other centers across the state do the same. Alone, each raptor admitted is a patient. Together, they are an early warning that warrants investigation.

Wildlife care, recorded together, becomes wildlife intelligence. The more of us who take part, the earlier we see what is coming, and the better we can respond.

Stewardship

The trusted steward of the world’s largest clinical wildlife health dataset.

Trust is the whole foundation. These are the principles we hold ourselves to, and that let 2,500+ organizations share what they see.

Wildlife rehabilitators own their records

Every organization controls its own patient data. We are the steward, never the owner.

Shared in aggregate

Network-wide insight comes from de-identified, aggregated data, never from exposing an individual clinic or case.

Open to science

Researchers and agencies can collaborate on the data, with clear agreements and credit to the people who collected it.

Never sold

We are a nonprofit. The data exists to protect wildlife, not to be monetized.
